Hi there! I’m Amber Chavez – I graduated from Abilene Christian University in May 2019 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Multimedia.
During my time at ACU, I gained a large amount of experience in video and radio production. I was the video director for the university newspaper, The Optimist, for over three years. I was an on-air host and producer for Abilene’s NPR member station, KACU 89.5 FM, for over two years. I have previously worked as the producer and editor for the ACU head football coach’s TV show, The Adam Dorrel Show, for two seasons, and I interned for KUT’s Texas Standard in the summer of 2018.
I was raised in Dripping Springs, also known as the Wedding Capital of Texas, the Gateway to the Hill Country, or Just West of Weird, depending on who you’re talking to.
I recently got married, and my husband and I love to cook, watch movies and take care of a 14-year-old Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier named Cooper.
Being behind the camera or microphone is my favorite thing about storytelling. One day I hope to tell stories that change the way people think or look at the world.
